I wanted to meet my sister and her family somewhere half-way between her home in Sacramento and ours in Santa Barbara. I searched online and found this place called The Firestone Grill. It had good reviews and it was right downtown in San Luis Obispo easy for both of us to find. Well in a word it was awesome. They were crowded and busy, but were very efficient in getting our food out. They specialize in burgers, tri-tip, BBQ, but have chicken, pulled pork, salads, great fries and onion rings, and many kinds of beer.
You can eat outside on their very pleasant patio, or inside, but the weather in SLO is always conducive to outdoor dining. SLO has a cute downtown area with lots of interesting shops to tour as well. We love coming up to SLO and will often take the drive just to eat at Firestone Grill. Try it!
