Another day, another beautiful town and perfect weather. Telc is known for the array of pastel buildings bordering the town square and an Italian Renaissance chateau built along the banks of the Telscly Stream. It was less than an hour’s drive from our CZ house through tiny picturesque villages on a road that, at best, was a car and a half wide. Drivers in the Czech Republic go fast but are considerate and follow the rules of the road.
Had lunch at a very good restaurant called Restaurace Pod Věží (Restaurant Under the Tower). Everyone had Wiener Schnitzel (it’s just so good here) but in our defense, we all had different sides. For a starter, Jim had, for the first time, Cod Livers, which he declared fantastic and made James and Laura try them. Laura said “Yuck!” and James said “Dad, I’ll never trust you again.” James, for his starter, ordered Czech Garlic Soup, which was outstanding and we had to try making it here at home. We’re working on perfecting it and will post a recipe in the near future.
