Went to Antigo to get brakes fixed on the Ford truck. Walked 4 miles then had fish fry at Heartbreakers. Meal was fantastic, service was great, company too. The great meal compensated for the cost of new brakes, OUCH! Overall a lovely day.
Friday fish fry is iconic in Wisconsin. No one in Wisconsin would think of eating anything else on Friday! Meal consists of (and it is always the same), fried fish (haddock, perch, walleye), coleslaw, and rye bread (pre-buttered) some places might serve some kind of potato but it is not customary. Every restaurant and tavern will be serving fried fish tonight so the competition is stiff and the quality is high.
